Friend has question, please help
by thepackage intook the day off of work and hanging out with my buddy.
he grew up a jw but is on the fence right now.
he has not gone to meetings in 10 years and this is the first time he's seen this site.

I wouldn't say its impossible, but I know its very hard, my sister married a worldly guy, with the hope that she could change him, he is very meek but stands firm on his beliefs and respects hers, last summer we talked and he cried about how difficult it is trying to be understanding for Memorial, Conventions, special talks, but my sister will not budge on birthdays, holidays, or attending his church. I know he goes through a lot, I feel bad for him but tell him that she will never change, but she will expect you to change, and that as a christian head of the house she does have to respect him. I won't tell you to break it off with the person you are interested in but your in for an uphill battle.

Do Witnesses have a Stronger Brotherhood than Christendom Does?
by gumby inthis came up in discussion between me and a fellow ex-dub buddy of mine.. as jw's, we had a brotherly unity.....at least many of us did.
if we were going somewhere and needed a witness to watch our place....even stay at our place, we had no reserves about being ripped off by them.
they were closer than some families members oftentimes and we even preferred being around them as opposed to "wordly" family members.

Very good question, I think that depends on how you treat your brother, I have always had close worldly friends growing up, both girls and guys, so I never cut anyone off in my life. That being said, I know that no matter what I believe or differences I may have with my friends they would never turn their backs on me, the would never shun me, or try to encourage me to return to their way of thinking. Do I think that JW's have a stonger brotherhood, no a strong brotherhood would never shun you.
